I faced issues understanding what the concepts meant and how I could apply them. I scored B4 for Maths before joining Good School.

For math, I used all the methods my teacher introduced to me, I was also able to clarify all my doubts when I was doing papers. I like how Ms Grace is able to explain math equations and concepts in a simple way that is easy to understand, I also like how she talks to me about the things going on in my life other than school. I like how the classrooms are small. I can clarify all my doubts at anytime as I can text my teachers on Whatsapp.

I went from getting B4/60% in Math in Sec 2 to getting A2 for AMath and A1 for EMath in O Levels    I take both AMath and EMath tuition. Mr Lee is also a very good teacher.

Before joining, i never understood Amath topics and concepts so it was very difficult to even attempt questions as i did not know how or where to start solving them since my teacher explained them too fast and did not understand what my teacher was saying, so i scored a D7 for a whole year for Amath.

While attending Good School, I was able to learn the Amath topics thoroughly and truly understand the concepts, building strong foundations for the topics and the subject as a whole. The tutor has a lot of experience in O-level Amath and knows all the bad habits that students have and corrects them early, while teaching the key to each stage of solving questions. From reading and understanding the questions to using the most error free and efficient solution. My tutor also has conversations with the class about their hobbies and interests as a way to liven up the classroom and let everyone feel comfortable and engaged. Any questions I had was quickly answered.

The next term's exam I scored an 78/100, A1, and scored only A1 until my O-level exam. I would definitely recommend Good School as it really helped me build a strong foundation for my Amath and gave me all the skills and knowledge to get an upper hand to excel in my Amath.

I did not completely understand what methods and what are certain processes to use as soon as I read the question and had to reread multiple times. A2 was my grade which had many careless mistakes and concepts I did not know I was supposed to use.

Good School lessons are different from others as the teachers always let us in on niks and tricks to use to quickly and properly answer questions. I like that the tutors are very fun and easy going but also make sure that work and assignments are properly done making the environment an educational and enjoyable experience.

In the end for O level I got A1 for my Amath and I'm very thankful for all my teachers, as without their support I would not have been able to guarantee gotten an A1. Hence I feel that Good School is really a good learning place and would highly recommend to others.

In school, my teacher would always go at a faster pace due to time constraint. Hence, even though we have not mastered certain chapters, we had to continue which led to snowballing of uncertainties for subsequent chapters.

However, during my time at Good School, my teacher Mr Zhang went through all the topics in detail and covered all possible variants of it. This made me confident and clear in what i was learning and the homework given also reinforced my understanding.

I went from a B4 to an A1 under the guidance of Mr Zhang and this took the one year I was taught for. However, in between I was seeing gradual improvements for every exam. I would definitely recommend this tuition to my friends and relatives as it is really effective.

Before joining Good School, I could not really understand Math lessons in school as my teacher was too fast and vague.

Mr Zhang would always go through small parts of the topic first and give us many practices to solidify our foundation.

I maintained my A1 since Secondary 1. I would recommend because the tuition really helps.

For A math I had a hard time keeping up with what the teachers were saying and what I was being taught. I had a hard time trying to do the homework too as I did not know how to properly apply the formulas I was taught before I got an average of B4 for A Math.

Good School taught me at a more manageable pace which allowed me to catch on quickly it also allowed me to do more practices in order to remember and practice what I learned so as to not forget. It also gave me a lot of practice papers before my O Levels for free for me to try on my own and went through all the corrections with me one by one to figure out where I went wrong and how to improve. I was able to clarify my doubts and I liked that I could learn the syllabus before it was even taught to me so that I could understand it better when I learnt it in class.

I had a 3 grade improvement in one year and got A1 for o levels. I would recommend Good School to my friends as it can provide a more comfortable learning environment for people who are unable to keep up with the stressful school environment

For A math the concepts seemed so abstract and I was very careless. I didn't really know how to improve besides doing past year papers again and again but it was not very effective on its own. I had F9 before I joined Good School.

Good School allowed me to do a comprehensive and targeted revision/ forward learning of each chapter which made my studying technique effective. I like that the tutor was not very demanding and thus we are to be demanding on ourselves which made me self motivated. I find the tuition centre's environment welcoming. I was able to clarify my doubts promptly and understand the standard in A math.

I went from F9 to A1 in O Levels in the span of 2 years. I would recommend Good School as it is not only cost effective and flexible but it is also quality.

For Math, I didnt have much interest in the subject and didn't do much practices. Usually I would cramp last minute study before my exams which made it very stressfull. I didnt have clear understanding of some concepts covered in school and did not have opportunities to consult with the school teachers.

Good School's structured classes ensured that I stayed ahead in my syllabus allowing me to excel in school. The teachers are friendly and engaging, allowing students to clarify any doubts and gain a deeper understanding of the subject. They also ingrain discipline in us, which helps me not only in math but also to work hard in other subjects.

I went from a B3 to a high A1 and would recommend Good School to my friends as the teachers can help identify the topics students are weak in and give them suitable exercises to improve.

For math, I never understood the basics of math as the methods and formulas were confusing at first. I was barely passing my math with an average of B4.

During the lessons at Good School, I was able to understand fully in detail about the methods and formulas and how to apply them in my learning. With the help of the tutor's teaching, I was able to use the START method to answer my questions easily. The tutor's teaching was easily understandable as he goes into detail about the equations. He is also helpful in telling me my mistakes and how to avoid them in the future. With his help, I was able to identify equations that I knew I had it wrong before and change it to be correct. As for the learning environment, the space was cozy and small and comes with a snack bar for us to stay energetic during lessons. The support provided by Good school was prompt as I am able to clarify my doubts to my teacher on WhatsApp. Not only that but Mr Zhang's book was able to help me find methods related to the question and it also prove effective as I got my friends to get the book and it specifically helped one of my friends who was failing all his maths test and he managed to pass his math in N-levels for the first time.

After receiving my results, I was shocked as I have gotten A2 for my math results. Without Good School's support, this mark will never be obtainable. I would definitely recommend Good School to others.

Before my A math examinations, I frequently felt unprepared. Despite dedicating time to numerous questions and revisions, I found it challenging to achieve high scores due to my lack of understanding of key concepts. In school, the large class sizes made it difficult for me to seek clarification on my queries.

However, at Good School, I had the opportunity to receive immediate help from the tutors whenever I encountered difficulties. With their support, I gained a much clearer understanding of the material, which greatly improved my performance in subsequent examinations. I had been consistently failing A Math, but after enrolling at Good School, I attained an A2 in my O-levels.    For A Math, I was able to effectively identify different types of questions and apply the relevant formulas with greater ease. The teacher provided tips that were clear and easy to understand, making it straightforward to apply them to the questions. The tutor excelled at simplifying abstract concepts and was always patient in addressing any queries we had. He would often guide us to think through problems instead of directly providing the solutions, which fostered independent problem-solving. The study environment was highly conducive and made learning much more enjoyable.

I achieved an impressive seven-grade improvement within just six months, ultimately earning an A2 in my O-level examinations. I wholeheartedly recommend Good School to others, as I truly valued the supportive study environment and the exceptional assistance provided.

To me, Math was just formulas with the thought of having little understanding for all the topics would be sufficient. I used to skip all the harder topics and attempt the questions with those topics with 0 knowledge.

With Mr Zhang's help, I was able to understand all topics with more detail and did not have any trouble getting the details and formulas memorised and have better time management between each questions

I scored B3 in 2023 and A2 for 2024.

Lincoln Lee

St Gabriel's Secondary School

 A Math C6 to A2

UST25_Lincoln Lee Hao-Yu_Good School Mentee.jpg

For math, I always felt my school's teaching pace was too fast. I was never able to fully understand the chapter before moving on to another, resulting in my foundations being weak. I didn't know how to breakdown the question and what methods to apply for each question, often making careless mistakes or using the wrong method to solve. This resulted in me scoring C6s most of the time and never achieving a distinction before for my WAs.

For math, using Mr Zhang's START book, I am able to get in depth breakdown of each math topic. His book often contained tips that schools do not give, making the questions easier to understand and solve. Every lesson I am able to fully grasp what Mr zhang is teaching as I feel like his pace of teaching is neither slow nor fast. This helped me understand the topic even before my school teaches it. Mr Zhang's lessons are never boring, he often relates his life stories with us when he feels like we are getting distracted. Making lesson more interesting than just plain teaching. Mr zhang is patient in explaining whenever we do not understand, making it easier to clear our doubts. In addition, the small class size makes it easier for Mr Zhang to monitor each of us, making us more focused in our class work.

During my o level year I paid extra attention in Mr Zhang's classes, putting in more effort in the homework he gave. Mr Zhang recognised my efforts which gave me more confidence in getting an A for Amath in O Levels. As a result, I managed to improve 4-grades to get an A2 for O Levels. I would recommend Good School because of their dedicated and patient teachers as well as their effective teaching methods. Through my years in Good School I have seen many positive improvements in my math.

Phay Jun Ming Raphael

UST65_Raphael Phay Jun Ming_Good School Mentee_edited.jpg

Before joining good School, mathematics has always been one of my greatest worries as I am very inconsistent in my grades, mainly because I frequently make careless mistakes in my work and no matter how hard I tried to pay a little more attention it was to no avail and hence my mathematics was one of my most inconsistent subjects, sometimes even failing the subject. Before joining good school, my grades were rather inconsistent staying in the range of E8 - B3.

For mathematics when I joined Mr Zhang's class in sec 3, I was able to learn a new method that Mr Zhang taught to us, his students. The START framework, which gave us a framework which we could apply to the questions that we did, which allowed us to have a better, clearer understanding of the question which made solving the question easier, and in my case helped me reduce the number of careless mistakes. Not only that, we are taught numerous tips and tricks which helped us gained an edge against our fellow classmates in school as the tips were much better than the ones given in sch and are much easier to learn and digest.

Personally I like the small class size, as compared to the giant tuition centres, I prefer the small class size that Good School has as it helps to create a more conducive learning environment and allows students to have sufficient consultation with our tutors which helps to answer our queries.

I also love how Mr Zhang puts in the effort to answer every students questions from the previous weeks homework so that we fully understand the concept and can confidently move on to the next chapter.

I went from borderline passes to consistent As in my Secondary 4 school year to eventually scoring a A2 in my o levels for both A and E Math.

During A Math lessons in school, it was difficult for me to grasp what the teacher was saying and most of the time I barely understood the new topics he was going through. Although he held additional support through online meetings, I was still unable to fully understand the techniques and methods used. I tried my best to follow his methods and did a ton of practice papers. However, I was only scoring at best a D7 and had never passed the subject

In Good School Learning Hub, there was a smaller class space so the teacher was able to pay more attention to us and our weaknesses. The teacher taught us ways which were very different but more understandable than my school teacher's method. As there was a smaller class space, I felt more inclined to ask questions to clarify my doubts and the teacher was able to answer my questions by prompting certain methods to use. The tutor also made the lessons extremely enjoyable and clear to ensure that we could understand him clearly.

In the end, I had a large jump going from a D7 in my prelims to a B3 in my O levels A Math. I would recommend Good School as the tutors there are really passionate and determined in teaching the students and the small class space could make it easier for the students to focus on their weak points, making their learning more fruitful.

Before my math examinations, I often felt unprepared. Despite completing numerous questions and revisions, I struggled to score well due to a lack of understanding of the required concepts and frequent careless mistakes. In school, the large class sizes made it difficult for me to voice my questions.

However, at Good School, I was able to seek immediate help from the tutors whenever I didn't understand a concept. With their assistance, I gained a clearer understanding of the material, which significantly improved my performance in subsequent examinations. I had been consistently scoring C5, but after joining Good School, I achieved a B3 in my O-levels.

For E Math, I was able to systematically identify various types of questions and apply the appropriate formulas with greater ease. Additionally, the tips provided by the teacher were clear and easy to understand, making it straightforward to apply them to the questions. The tutor excelled at making abstract concepts easy to grasp and patiently explained any questions we had. He would occasionally prompt us instead of directly providing the solutions, which encouraged independent problem-solving. The conducive study environment made learning much more enjoyable.

I experienced a two-grade improvement in approximately six months, ultimately achieving a B3 in my O-level examinations. I would highly recommend Good School to others, as I truly appreciated the conducive study environment and the exceptional support provided.

Before joining Good School, I was very weak in terms of my key concepts for A Math and I didn’t know how to improve. I often tried to seek help from my classmates and teachers at school. However, they were often busy and unable to direct information to me in a conceivable manner. I felt that I was mostly memorising certain methods but not fully understanding how to apply them in specific questions. This inevitably lead to me receiving a E8 in my End of year A-math paper.

During my first lesson at Good School, I was surprised and impressed that the method of teaching was very cognitive yet simplistic to understand. Usually my teachers at school would just go through the syllabus as fast as possible and would give a lot of workload to students. However, at Good School the teachers were more keen on my understanding rather than my ability to learn fast and work fast. My A.math teacher, Mr Zhang, had taught me the technique of START which allowed me to find the key words in the question and to identify the topic or method that was needed, I must have pestered him with many doubts but he would make time for me and would answer these questions even after tuition working hours.

After getting my ‘O’level results, I had witnessed a tremendous improvement from scoring E8 or F9 for every exam on repeat to getting a B3. I was shook and was really able to realise the amount of potential that I had. I would recommend this tuition because it has allowed me to find footing and understand certain techniques and perspectives of learning but I would say if anyone is willing to join Good School, you must keep in mind that you have to put in the effort to do better and achieve excellence by being open minded and having a growth mindset. Additionally, no one should be afraid of asking doubts to clarify your doubts since most of the teachers here at Good School are very kind and supportive.\

In a nutshell, I strongly encourage everyone to join Good School as it will perform miracles like mine.

I always struggled with A math and have never understood the concepts behind it. I was consistently getting an F9 and it was hard for me to keep up with the pace of my peers.

After joining Good School, I begin to understand the way to solve the math problems and slowly started liking math again.

I had a 4 grade improvement from F9 to C5 in just 1-2 months. Even though i didn't score as well in A math as the rest of my peers and schoolmates, I was glad that I still managed to improve in such a short time with the teacher’s help despite joining the centre late.

I have never passed A Math before. I’ve constantly scored F9 throughout Sec 3 and Sec 4. Before joining Good School my teacher would explain the topics in a fast pace which often let me to feel lost and I couldn’t grasp the concept fast enough.

In Good School, Mr Lee made class engaging and constantly told us tips that made A Math easier to understand. He also encouraged us during our O Level period which made the exams less stressful.

I had a 2-grade improvement. I would recommend Good School as lessons are very engaging and students would definitely enjoy learning.

In my Math classes in school, I was always far behind and was too scared to ask for help. This ended up piling up from primary school until Sec 2, which made me fail all my math papers. I was a consistent failure in math, usually scoring E8 or F9.

When I first joined Good School Learning Hub, I felt like it was too late for me to catch up with the syllabus. The lessons in Good School are effective, as a smaller class allows for the tutor to give each student more attention and assistance with their struggles. Mr Lee is very patient and adaptive. He was able to explain topics in a way that was easy to grasp, while at the same time being efficient in practices and covering topics. I was more confident to ask for help, and slowly had more hope for passing my Os. Although I know I could have done better, I was able to improve by 3 grades, F9 to C6, securing a pass for my O levels.

I would recommend juniors in Good School to be confident to ask questions if they do not understand the topics, and do their homework diligently to not forget what is taught.

I am very happy to have been part of good school learning hub.

I didn't understand much about AMath and found it really confusing. I was just aimlessly studying thinking it could some how work. I scored a F9 for my prelims and never passed AMath before.

In Good School, we received A START book. The book is comprehensive and have many challenging questions which aims to set the student's standards so they would not face a challenge during examinations. The book also includes tips just in case the student needs help.
The tutor is able to teach us in a way that allows us to understand quickly. He would also keep asking us if we understood and rectify any of our misunderstandings. The tutor would also go out of his way to ask individually just in-case we are too shy to ask. His teaching methods are really great and is always motivating us. For example, during exam periods, he would send encouraging messages and asking us to text him any time if we needed help.

I had a 3-grade improvement in 5 months and scored a C6. I would recommend because the tutors there are able to teach in a way that allows you to understand the subject easier. They are also really caring, motivating and would always go out of their way to help you.

For Math, I didn't understand the method of doing equations and algebra even though my school teacher had already explained.

The lessons in Good School are taught from the basics and it helps me revise. The math START book was also very helpful, as I can refer to it whenever I am stuck doing math. The book also has all the formulas which is also very helpful. Mr Zhang is able to explain things clearly and stresses important things to remember, he also told us some specific steps to do math which I think is really helpful. Mr Zhang will choose specific questions for homework that he thinks that will help us understand better, which I think is effective for me to improve. Mr Zhang also makes sure that everyone in class understands before moving on and I think this is effective in helping students to not fall behind. The centre's learning environment is conducive and I think the class size is just nice.

I think that the support provided by Mr Zhang is really very helpful, for example, I can ask him any questions  or take a picture of any math questions that I am stuck with on Watsapp which is very convenient and I think it helped me understand a lot better in doing the questions.

I got a Grade 4 for N Levels and it took 2 years and 80 days. I would recommend Good School to my friends because I think the teaching structure here would help them improve.

Hello! I am Leonard Louie from Zhong Hua Secondary School. Before joining Good School, my grades were like barely passing for my mathematics. It was barely C6 and barely C5. I was really struggling as I could not keep up in class and I really didn't understand how mathematics really is because I didn't really understood what my teacher was saying. After joining Good School, the tutor Mr Zhang has really give me a good insight of how mathematics can be applied in my life so I started to enjoy the subject and started to understand it more and that perhaps help me to elevate my grade and of course my understanding of the subject. Mr Zhang has helped me to deepen my understanding of the Mathematics as a subject and I can really imply in my life and this help me to enjoy the subject more and help me to understand it more so that it helps me to elevate my understanding and better my grades on the subject itself. When I was learning Differentiation, he broke down the differentiation steps with like simple steps but as for my teacher, she go through like a lot of funny methods which didn't help me a lot so I was lucky to have Mr Zhang to help me with the Differentiation. My final grades for E Math was A2 and A math, I got B3. Yes, I would definitely recommend Good Schoolto any student out there who is struggling with their mathematics. Thank you Mr Zhang for believing in me for these 4 years during my Secondary School and you really helped me believe in myself during mathematics because in primary school, I was really a bad student in mathematics subjects and I keep failing so thanks to you, I really understand maths now. Thank you.

 A Math F9 to C5 in 5 months

Before I joined Good School for Amath, I was struggling to understand how the formulas from the first chapter was applied. It seemed like it was just completely random and so for the majority of my time, I just practised parts and did questions based on my gut feeling. This was enough for me to get by, but not enough for me to score well.

When I joined Good School, Mr Zhang had a very interesting way of teaching these chapters. He broke down the process into steps and told us what was the procedure for each question in a very organised and structured manner while still being something that I can pick up really easily. He also has a very vast knowledge of the common and rare pitfalls and how to mitigate them. He demonstraes with permutations of the question we are doing and his questions that are gone through in lessons are done on the spot so that we can all see the thought process behind his thinking. Within just about half a month, I already saw tremendous improvement in my Amath, not just in the way my approach was more optimised, but I understood how each individual component worked and even if I were to forget, I could easily just use the structure he taught to simply relearn and remember what to do.

I had jumped from a B4 to a consistent A1 for a large majority of my Sec 3 and 4 journey. Lessons were not only getting all the more interesting, but while the topics getting harder, the experience of the lesson and amount I understood in each lesson only increased in quality. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family, I’ve recommend once or twice actually.
