A Math A2

Before joining Good School Learning Hub, I faced difficulties in learning the subject because I was unsure of the methods used to solve the questions, and I had never done a recap or overview of the subject. I always believed that math came naturally to me, as I managed to cope with it and consistently earned A2 grades before joining GSLH. However, as I approached Sec. 3, I found myself struggling to keep up.Upon joining GSLH Kovan for Secondary A Math lessons, I quickly grasped concepts and methods, realizing that there's a systematic approach to studying math, one that doesn't necessarily rely on natural talent. The methods taught were incredibly foolproof, far superior to those used in school, and they simplified math greatly. Additionally, my tutor, Mr. Zhang, motivated us by sharing his life stories, especially during Sec. 4, encouraging us to always do our best. His stories made me eagerly anticipate each lesson.Overall, GSLH must have been the best tuition centre I've ever attended. I consistently achieved A1 grades for Additional Math, occasionally A2, and ultimately secured an A2 in O level.

In Additional Mathematics, I consistently made many careless mistakes, resulting in the loss of numerous marks. Before enrolling for Secondary A Math tuition at Good School Learning Hub Kovan, I scored an E8 in my WA2.My tutor, Mr. Lee, ensures that we develop a thorough understanding of each lesson during the debrief, where he quickly reviews the tips and keywords for each question. Additionally, he shares his own experiences in dealing with certain topics and teaches us convenient methods to memorize important information. With a small classroom, the tutor can focus more on each student, ensuring they keep up. Furthermore, having the option to contact him after teaching hours is convenient for clarifying doubts. After joining Good School, I achieved a four-grade improvement within a year. I highly recommend Good School to others because of its affordable yet effective tutoring.

A Math A1

Before, I struggled to keep up with the pace and depth of content taught in school after the term 1’s test, despite scoring an A1 in said test. Which was the point in time I joined Good  School Kovan.

In the Secondary A Math lessons at Good School, the content was taught in a clear and easily understood manner, with the answering technique of identifying the keywords being immensely helpful. With helpful tips for specific question types. The tutor is able to help students identify potential pitfalls and mistakes they make and may make during exams to allow students to be able to close their gaps. I like that the centre has an online learning option as I am able to save travelling time during crucial exam periods. I’m also able to ask Mr Zhang any questions or uncertainties I have over WhatsApp, and he is able to help me over WhatsApp.

I maintained my grades at A1 level for all subsequent tests/exams including O levels after joining. I’d recommend GS because of the clear and concise way of teaching that makes understanding and applying skills in A Math easier

In math, I consistently struggled with carelessness, which led to a lack of motivation for extensive practice. This tendency was glaringly reflected in my mid-year results, where I obtained an E8. To add on, I often forgot mathematical formulas, a significant and crucial component of math in general.

However, when I joined Good School for Secondary E Math lessons, my tutor at the Tampines branch provided abundant practice materials and conducted thorough reviews with us. Because of this, my tutor really enhanced my understanding on certain fundamentals and basics of mathematical concepts. An example of which is her effective method of teaching mensuration formulas. Instead of memorising these formulas directly from the textbook, Ms Grace demonstrated and elucidated the logical reasoning behind each formula and why it was created as such. Not to mention, her willingness to address queries even beyond scheduled curriculum time undoubtedly and greatly contributed to my progress. In just 5 months, I improved from an E8 to a B3 in my O’ Levels.

I would highly recommend Good School to those who seek educated tutors who will provide the best quality education for their future endeavors.

For Additional Math, I never realized that the questions were repetitive. Even if they weren't exactly the same, they would just be slight variations of one another, following the same structure for similar questions. Due to the constant belief that Additional Math was simply difficult, I never thought there would be a way to improve on it. Thus, my WA results were always in the C6 range.During my time at Good School Kovan, I found myself coping better with Additional Math and even finding joy in the subject. It was a great relief for me to have joined Good School in the first half of Secondary Three because I would have enough routine practices for my O levels. I will always remember Mr. Lee's words: "Redo the questions until you are tired of doing it because you are always getting them right." Being in a small class, my introverted self was never afraid to raise any doubts on the spot, and hence, my questions were always answered during lessons.I experienced a three-grade improvement and scored a B3 for my O level Additional Math. I highly recommend Good School because of its conducive learning environment and supportive tutors.

For Secondary Math, I did not know how to study properly for the examinations and would read through the notes only. Before joining Good School Kovan, my A Math grade was F9 and i had difficulty passing my exams.

During the Secondary A Math lessons at Good School, I was able to learn the proper methods on how to do certain questions and what I should do when I see certain keywords in the question. I had a 5-grade improvement and scored B4 for O levels.

I would recommend Good School Learning Hub to my friends as it helped me to have a better understanding of what steps to do when answering the math questions.

As someone who struggled with math throughout my academic life, I often found myself confused by what the teacher taught in school, which eventually led to a lack of motivation to excel in math. I was unable to clarify my doubts in a big classroom environment and scored many U (ungraded) during my lower secondary exams and tests. However, the Secondary Math lessons at Good School provided me with the opportunity to clarify my doubts in a smaller class setting. I felt more comfortable answering questions and was able to catch up with what was being taught in school.

My tutor at the Tampines branch, Mr. Lee, was very clear on the steps needed to reach the answers and provided easy strategies for certain topics, which allowed me to grasp concepts quickly and find math easier and more exciting to learn. Additionally, I could ask questions through WhatsApp about both my tuition homework and schoolwork. The classroom environment was very conducive, with a cooling atmosphere that greatly helped me learn comfortably. As a result, I scored a B4 for math in my N-Levels. I am thankful for the help I received and do not regret joining Good School. I highly recommend it because I find this tuition to be effective and fruitful.

For secondary math, I struggled to understand my previous teacher as she explained concepts in a confusing and complex manner. Whenever I asked her a question, she would redirect it back to me without providing a clear answer. Consequently, my grades consistently hovered around C6 and C5, resulting in an overall C5 score. However, after switching to a new tutor, my experience with math drastically improved. The lessons became much clearer, with the tutor avoiding overwhelming amounts of homework, typically assigning around 10 questions per lesson. In addition to teaching math, Mr Zhang shares anecdotes from his own life and imparts valuable lessons, offering a refreshing break from problem-solving. Furthermore, he actively encourages student participation and maintains a small class size, making it easy for me to ask questions both in-person and online. Thanks to this change, I achieved a two-grade improvement and scored an A2 for O-level math. I highly recommend Mr Zhang at Good School Kovan because of his effective teaching methods and supportive approach.

E Math C5 to B3

Before joining Good School Kovan, I encountered numerous challenges grappling with mathematical concepts and was unable to immediately attempt any question that was given. Especially when I started learning AMath, it felt way tougher to me and was making me more demoralised as I could not seem to understand what was going on amongst the fast paced school lessons. Consequently, my performance in WA1 during Sec 3 fell short, with both my mathematics grades teetering between failure and marginal success.

Good School provided me with a less-stressed and comfortable learning environment where the class is smaller. This conducive setting allowed me to confidently engage with my tutors, addressing any lingering uncertainties regarding challenging concepts. Additionally, Mr Zhang was very detailed and patient while helping me with the questions, which allowed me to have more confidence in this particular subject, while clearing up my doubts. Over the years I have spent in Good School Kovan, there was a consistent commitment to enhancing the learning experience for students. New formats allow for students to find their notes more easily which was very helpful for me as I could find a multitude of information to guide myself in just one flip, navigating my studies with ease and efficiency. I was able to get a B3 grade for my EMath, which was a 2 grade improvement, and a C6 for my AMath, a 3 grade improvement.

I would recommend GSLH to those who are struggling to keep up with their school’s teaching pace as in many traditional classroom settings, teachers often lack the flexibility to address individual students' needs amidst the demands of the curriculum. However, in GSLH, the tutors are patient and would check with the whole class if everyone single one of us understood before continuing with the lesson, and are even willing to stay back with students after the lesson to clear up any remaining questions that one did not bring up during lesson, This personalised approach to learning has proven incredibly effective for me and I believe it could greatly benefit others seeking to improve their academic performance and understanding.

For me, understanding complex mathematical concepts, deciphering problem statements, and applying appropriate problem-solving strategies was daunting. Insufficient practice and ineffective study habits also hindered my ability to tackle mathematical problems effectively, hence hindering my progress. My grades for E math fluctuated from A1 to B3. For A math, I scored D7 for my prelims and was struggling to pass the subject.

Upon joining Secondary E Math and A Math lessons at Good School Kovan, I learnt about the SMART model. The SMART model played a pivotal role in my improvement in mathematics by providing structured guidance, clear explanations, and valuable insights. Mr Zhang's emphasis on simplified formulas and real-world examples helped me see the relevance of mathematics in everyday life, enhancing my appreciation and understanding for the subject. He helped me to gain an appreciation and understanding for the subject. Mr Zhang's constructive feedback and individualized attention allowed me to identify and address my weaknesses, while his encouragement of collaborative learning fostered a sense of camaraderie among classmates, enabling us to learn from each other's insights and approaches.

I managed to remain consistent for E Math thanks to the myriad of practices Mr Zhang gives weekly and him promptly clarifying our doubts. While for A Math, I had a 4 grade improvement, scoring B3 for my A Math O level. I would recommend GSLH to my juniors as Mr Zhang is not only efficient in teaching, but also humorous and will engage students during his lessons. He also  breaks down formulas so that we actually learn and not blindly memorise, allowing us to seriously understand A Math which is not that hard. :)

I would like to share my positive experience with Good School Learning Hub as a Normal Academic student, particularly regarding Mathematics. I began attending their Secondary E Math classes towards the end of Secondary 2 due to ongoing struggles with the subject. Before joining Good School, I consistently failed Mathematics, finding it challenging to comprehend questions and apply formulas to solve word problems, resulting in a U grade.

However, upon joining Mr. Zhang's class at Good School Kovan, my Mathematics performance improved significantly. Throughout Secondary 3 and the initial months of Secondary 4, I continued to excel. Mr. Zhang's teaching method was instrumental in enhancing my understanding of mathematical concepts. His classes were informative, and he made sure to clarify my doubts thoroughly before progressing to new topics. Additionally, his teaching style was engaging and infused with humor, making the lessons enjoyable.

Despite facing challenges during revision for my prelims and N-level exams, I experienced a remarkable two-grade improvement. Ultimately, I achieved a grade 4 in Mathematics for my N-level exams, all thanks to Mr. Zhang's guidance and support.

Before joining Good School Kovan for Secondary Math, I had little hope for my A math and had considered giving up on it altogether. However, after joining Good School, I realized that there was still hope for me. I had scored an F9 for my prelims as well as other WAs, and I had only managed to pass the A math examination once.

Good School approached A math questions differently, and Mr. Zhang's teaching method was understandable. I appreciated how Mr. Zhang simplified complex-looking questions into something more understandable, and his humor helped lighten the mood. The learning environment was conducive and productive, and I received support simply by clarifying questions with Mr. Zhang. As a result, I achieved a grade of C5, which was a four-grade improvement from my Prelims two months prior.

Despite Good School not being as affordable, the resources provided made it worth it. I would recommend it because of its effective teaching methods and supportive environment.

I maintained my score of an AL2 for PSLE Math.

The tutor, Mr Zhang, taught us in a very fun way and I enjoyed the Primary Math lessons at Good School (Tampines) more than the other tuitions I went to before.

I went from a total AL19 in prelim to a total AL10 in PSLE, which is a 9-grade improvement so it was good. I would recommend other people to join Good School because I think they will too like the lessons taught by Mr Zhang.
