English A1

Before joining Good School, I wasn’t too confident in my English and I felt like I was winging my way through essays and comprehensions. I found my English grades going up and down and I got a B4 for prelims which made me worried for O Levels, making me feel that English was a hit or miss.
Looking back, Mr Tan’s tuition helped me to open my eyes and broaden my perspective on the English language. With Mr Tan’s help, I found myself enjoying learning English as a language and started having fun doing comprehension and testing my English skills. The notes in the booklets and extra materials accompanied with Mr Tan’s constant guidance pushed me forward allowing me to secure a A1 for O Levels.
I would definitely recommend this tuition class as it really prepared me well for O Levels and I am truly grateful for it!!

English C6 to A1

I realised my English was going downwards and stagnating. I did not know there was a way to really study for English as it is not a science subject. Even if I tried practicing on my own, I realised I was still not improving. I scored C6 before joining Good School.
Good School taught me the way to study English and gave me feedback which was in depth and useful. The tutor was able to be consistent to allow me to gauge where is the standard so I can score effectively. I like that the centre is not very imposing but quite welcoming. I was able to relatively quickly get feedback and identify any issues.
I got A1 for my English O Levels. I would recommend Good School as it is flexible and cost effective without sacrificing quality

I didn't understand how to answer many comprehension questions properly and struggled to be creative in my essays. My grade for Sec 3 EOYs was a B4 before joining Good School.
The acronyms shared during lessons made it easy to remember how to form my statements and paragraphs during exams. Ms Sarah Tan makes it easy to understand how and why questions are answered in a specific way. She also gave numerous tips and tricks on essay writing over the many lessons which really helped during my exams. On top of having a small class size, the freedom to join classes on zoom is very helpful when I am unable to come in person, like when I am sick or do not have time to go down to the centre.
had a 2 grade improvement from my Sec 3 EOYs (B4) and a 4 grade improvement from my Sec 4 Prelims (C6), getting an A2 for my O Levels. I would recommend Good School because the lessons are effective.

English U to B3

When I first entered Secondary School, English became a lot harder and advanced. From doing simple vocabulary multiple choice questions in primary school to doing advanced comprehension, essays, situational writing and many more. As a result, I was not consistent in my English when it came too adding up the scores of every variations of English that I had learnt. From getting a grade 3 in my WAs but getting a grade 5 or worse for my End of Year exams.
As English was a lot harder to cope with, I joined Good School to have tuition for it to improve my results. When I first joined Good School, I was expecting the lessons to go in the same direction that majority of English tuitions go, where they would just teach us the basic way to answer questions. However, joining Good School's English lessons gave me a whole new perspective towards the language. Things like formats and models were taught and I found them interesting as I have never been taught to do my English papers this way every before. Not only that, but Mr Tan makes the lesson more interesting. For instance, he would always show us news articles at the start of lessons for us to possibly use some of these articles in our exams, this not only helps us in our exams but allow us to be more interested in coming to class as showing us articles rather than going straight into the usual comprehensions which can be boring for us students at times.
The centre's learning environment is extremely comfortable as well as the teacher would always give us a conducive and comfortable learning experience. For example, they would adjust the air conditioning if we feel too cold or too hot to make sure that we would be comfortable. My teacher is also always answering my questions when I message him, and it does not take him more than a day to answer them all the time, making it easier to learn even when I am not in class.
I got a grade 3 for an English, which is an improvement as I used to get a U grade. I would recommend Good School because they can help with all types of struggles that you are facing in your studies, and make u stronger in them to be better than everyone else in your class.

English E8 to B3

Before my English examinations, I often felt unprepared and uncertain about how to study effectively. My essays were riddled with errors, which significantly impacted my scores. Prior to enrolling in Good School, I received an E8 on my recent test.
However, after joining the school and benefiting from their excellent guidance and support, I achieved a B3 in my O-level examinations. During English lessons, the tutor not only reviewed questions with us but also shared effective strategies for breaking down questions and provided valuable tips to ensure we answered them correctly. He made the lessons exceptionally easy to understand and always addressed our queries with patience. His willingness to explain concepts multiple times to ensure complete comprehension was highly commendable. Additionally, the study environment at Good School was outstanding, fostering both learning and growth.
I experienced a five-grade improvement in approximately six months, ultimately achieving a B3 in my O Level examinations. I would highly recommend Good School to others, as I truly appreciated the conducive study environment and the exceptional support provided.

English D7 to B3

Brfore joining Good School, I thought that English was a "luck based" subject.
By using methods taught by Mr Tan, I found out that there is more into depth for English and there are ways to answer questions correctly.
2023 I scored a D7, and 2024 I scored a B3. I definitely would recommend Good School to my friends or juniors as this tuition centre has benefited me greatly.

English D7 to B3 in 3 months

Prior to joining Good School I've always thought that English is a unique subject that has no structured way to revise. For example, I've always believed that the planned response component in Oral requires students to write down the complete script and later recite them to the examiner. Additionally, Comprehension was always a struggle for me as I could not answer some questions because I could not break it down into multiple digestible parts.
Good School's approach to English is rather unique yet effective because it utilises logic models to tackle questions that could seem to be overly-complex. By implementing the logic models, questions that appear overwhelming on the surface could be managed by drawing the 'OCE' diagram and listing the multiple evidence that are required in order to attain full marks.
I had a 4 grade improvement (D7 to B3) in the span of three months under Mr Tan's English class. I would recommend any math-oriented student that struggles in English to join Good School as complex terms would be broke down and 'rebranded' to mathematical terms to make life easier doing English. The OCE diagram does wonders as well because it is a flawless way to assure full marks if properly put in place.

For English , I didn’t know how to study for it and the techniques needed to ace comprehension. I thought I could just read more or practice comprehension more and it would improve for English.
After joining Good School, I was taught the different answering techniques and logic models so I could score well in comprehension. Mr Tan also went through news at the start of the lesson to give us more general information.
I had a 7 grade improvement since Secondary One and scored B3 for O Levels. I would recommend because the tutors really know how to teach and how to improve your work

English D7 to B3

For English, I never knew there was a consistent strategy to score well in Composition writing. I initially scored a D7 for my WA1 in Secondary 1.
Good school taught me strategies that were easy to understand that I could apply to English to get more marks. The tutor was very patient with me and often helped me understand and comprehend certain areas I was having trouble with. The centre's classrooms are air conditioned and are quiet. I was often able to clarify many doubts and questions during lessons.
I had a 2-grade improvement form C5 at the start of 2024 to a B3 for my O Levels
I would recommend Good School because the teachers and staff and friendly and kind and will help you at any time.

English F9 to B4

For English, I never knew that there were techniques and methods to answer them and I would usually go with my gut feeling for the exam and not study as I did not know how to.
During Good School, I learnt about different logic models and techniques to help guide me to answer the question accurately. The support given during the classes was very effective and useful and I could easily understand it.
I had a 5 grade improvement and got B4 for my O levels, I would highly recommend Good School to others.
Jaw Yan Ting Chloe
Naval Base Secondary School
English F9 to B4

I always thought English was just about reading and expanding your vocabulary and there were no other ways to improve, however no matter how much I read my grades did not made much improvements. Lowest I got before joining Good School was F9 in Sec 1.
Mr Tan taught us a lot of methods for different types of sections. He mentioned that English is similar to Math and has formulas that we can follow to make it easier to answer. These methods made it easier for me to know how to answer the questions more accurately. Mr Tan tries to crack jokes in class to lighten up the mood and always gives feedback on areas where we can improve on. I liked how the class was not extremely large. I was able to clarify my doubts during lessons and outside of lesson timings as well. Despite clarifying my doubts outside lessons, Mr Tan will still reply patiently which I am grateful for.
I got a B4 for my English and made quite an improvement compared to my Secondary 1 results. I would recommend Good School to my juniors or friends as my experience here has been quite good and the teacher was helpful.

English AL5 to AL2 in 6 months

For English, I never knew how to properly answer the questions asked. I thought that by doing more exercises I would have improved. But it seemed otherwise. I scored an AL 5 overall for Primary 5.
Mr Just Tin gave tips on how to tackle the hard to answer English questions. He also shared his notes which were useful and I used them as reference while answering my daily school work. This helps me improve my grades overall for my English. Mr Just Tin encourages students to clarify any questions they may have at the end of the lesson, and this gives the timid students the courage to speak up to reinforce our learning. He also injects a bit of laughter into his lessons and lets the students enjoy teachings, making the lesson fun and interesting.
My class had a small size, making it easier to ask questions in the middle of the lesson, making the learning environment conducive. Mr Just Tin is always ready to answer a student's query after lesson or via WhatsApp, which makes clarifying doubts as easy as whipping out your phone or raising your hand.
I had a huge improvement of my grades from AL 5 to AL 2 for my PSLE in a span of 6 months. I would recommend Good School because of this.

English AL2

For English, I never knew how to exactly study for it. Such as, for composition, I didn't know how to make my composition more captivating and interesting. My understanding of word classes weren't the best either.
In English, during the lessons, I was able to understand and process my tutor's words and explanations as it was clear. Studying English becane easier and better for me. My tutor is more of a visual-learner, if that's how you say it. For example, for synthesis and transformation, if a question was hard to understand, he would (so called) act it out, so it'll be easier for us to understand. Same goes for composition too and lessons wouldn't be boring. The place has air conditioning on each room, so it won't be so hot contrasting to the weather outside. Pretty conductive place to study and learn in. Good support. It's easy to reach out to ask for help or questions to my tutor.
I improved in a lot of aspects in English ever since P4, when I started Good School. My different components scored higher, especially in my Language Use and Comprehension component. I would recommend Good School to my juniors as I think learning from here will benefit them in the long run to PSLE and O Levels too.

English AL5 to AL2

Before joining Good School, I thought that English is a subject that had no strategy or approach to study on. Hence, in exams, I usually just wrote in answers that “sounded correct“ to me. For oral, I gave more brief and short answers to the questions I have been asked. The compositions I wrote always had broken and run-on sentences and were always not relevant to the plot. Hence, in my P3 exams, I got an AL5.
The lessons in Good School were not only helpful in understanding that there is more to English than just reading and test papers, but was also very fun and interactive. I loved the humour that my teacher used, which made the class more lively. This makes me interested to keep listening to the teacher, so I get the most out of every lesson. The centre has snacks provided to eat, so whenever my energy is feeling low before a lesson, I take a snack to eat so I can have energy to listen when the class starts. I love the fact that I can clear any doubts after lessons using Whatsapp.
I had a 3 grade improvement in 3 years and scored an AL2 for my PSLE English. I would highly recommend this tuition centre as this place has very friendly teachers that can help you acquire the grade you want while having fun.

English AL4 to AL2

I used to always get AL4 for English despite my decent Paper 2 grades. My oral and compo would constantly pull me down. I thought it was hopeless and I would not get better despite my efforts. My punctuation was terrible and there was not enough usage of good vocab in my writing. In addition I was very nervous and stuttered a lot during my oral. I felt unprepared no matter what I did.
During Good School, the lessons were very short compared to my long 2 and a half hours from my other tuition. However, I found that this despite this my improvements were much better compared to my old tuition. During lessons I am able to easily understand my teacher and I also found my teachers very kind and welcoming but also being able to be strict when needed. Because of this there were barely any disturbances during class and it allowed me to focus better but also take a break and laugh after my teacher cracks a small joke.
I like the learning environment as think the class size is sufficient while the aircon provides a cool environment for students to learn and improve. I also think the support given is great and the teachers can very easily answer my questions as well as give us encouragement when we get bad scores or motivation to push forward and study harder. My vocab gradually began to expand. I started getting better at pronunciation and using more non human subject as well as using more adjectives and adverbs. I also started to get better at oral. Before, I didn't even know that using better vocabulary in oral could give me more marks. With this new knowledge and skills, I was able to easily breeze through my oral and compo. With my compo now being one of my best components in English.
I would recommend Good School as it is a fun enjoyable experience while also being very helpful and helping to push our grades above and beyond. This is my first year of being here and it has been so memorable, and I'm happy to stay here to enhance my education further. I look forward to the future, and the many memories that I will make along the way.

For English, I never passed my compositions before as I did not know any good words and phrases to add and I always wrote slowly as I did not know how to continue my story.
After joining Good School, I learnt how to use different words and phrases as well as how to write faster as I got more practice in writing. Mr Tan's advice on ways to improve helped me tremendously as well.
I would recommend Good School Learning Hub to others as the teachers give good advice on ways to improve.

I did not know how to prepare for English exams as I always thought it was about speaking English. My grade for the subject was AL5. I have always scorEd badly for English.
At Good School Learning Hub, lessons are engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs. I love how the tutor makes complex topics easy to understand while encouraging active participation. The learning environment is welcoming, motivating, and designed for focus, which enhances my productivity. The support provided is exceptional—always available when I need help, and the team genuinely cares about my progress and success.
I had a 2-grade improvement in 4 months and scored an AL3 for my PSLE from an AL5 for my prelims. I would strongly recommend Good School Learning Hub to my friends, juniors and other Primary 6 kids who are struggling for their English because Good School's teaching methods are fantastic and has proven to help me achieve this improvement.
I am incredibly grateful for the support and guidance I received from Mr. Just Tin Tan, my English tutor, throughout my studies, which culminated in a significant academic achievement. Reflecting on my learning journey, I can confidently say that Mr. Tan’s tutoring played a pivotal role in helping me reach my goals and exceed my expectations.

English C6 to B3

I initially relied on my primary school knowledge for English in secondary school, but it wasn’t enough, and I got a C6, which made me question my ability. Mr. Tan at Good School helped me improve through structured guidance in PEEL paragraphs, comprehension, and summary questions, as well as training for oral exams with news articles and mock sessions. My results improved from C6 to B3 in weighted assessments, and I scored A2 for O-Levels. I highly recommend Good School for its effective teaching, especially under Mr. Tan. Mr. Zhang’s math lessons are also highly effective, as he gives personalized feedback, engages students with relatable topics, and supports them outside of class.
